The Harpy is a female human being, mutated after inhaling the black spores produced from the Mortifilia's flowers.
This mutation alters greatly the subject's anatomy, warping her beyond recognition: her skin becomes leathery and greyish, her arms atrophy into stumps, her head become tangled with hair-like roots.
The motility characteristic of the 2nd genration Mortifilia spores' give it the ability to fly and hover effortlessly, making easy for them to flank enemies and preys.
Its most drastical and grotesque feature is the ventral part of its body: its head is misshapen and featureless, with a toothed upper jaw like that of a lamprey's head, but it has no lower jaw and its mouth literally opens all the way down to its stomach, pelvis and thighs, which are covered in needle-like teeth like mandibles.
The voice of an Harpy is their last remnant of a human form: even if it cannot speak, it is not an animalistic shriek but has the sound of the laughing and sighing of a young woman.
They generally move in pairs or in groups and attack exploiting their ability to float in the air. Graceful and agile, the Harpy attacks swiftly and strikes by surprise. The use the spiked inner side of their legs to kick and rend but, after a few strikes, they jump away from the enemy to get away from a possible counteroffensive.
Although they attack in large groups and easily avoid attacks by moving through the air, the Harpy does not possess great physical strength and are easily taken down with a few hits of a melee weapon.
Wasting ammunition against these monsters is only worth when you are cornered but generally you can get the upper hand knocking them down form air with the Stun Gun and then using melee weapons to finish them. Alternatively you can try to land a hit as soon as they come close to attack.
