The office of Herbert Friedman is a room of high importance located in Leafmore High, able to be explored in both ObsCure and ObsCure II. It originally served as a place for Herbert (and likely Leonard too, back when he wasn't infected) to manage the matters of the school, and would later be of great use to the Leafmore Survivors, as inside there were multiple key items that would let them continue their adventure.

Information

The room is house to many different artifacts found by the Friedman brothers in their expedition to Africa, including masks, photographs, books, and other memorabilia.

The room contains a safe, hidden behind a puzzle, where you have to use two compasses to mark the coordinates where the island where the original Mortifilia was located to open it, where you'll find multiple items in the first game, while in the second, it's empty.

ObsCure

In ObsCure, you come looking for Herbert to his office, only to find a note left by him saying that he's in the library.

Alongside it, you will find a photo with both brothers, which finally reveals to the students that Herbert did indeed have a twin brother, and also one compass that they will later need to complete the map puzzle in the same room.

After opening the safe, you will find an old note left by Wickson, the school's nurse, explaining to Herbert that his brother has become obsessed with the Mortifilia, and she thinks that he may end up injecting it into himself. You will also find a key to the library, a tape with a recording of Kenny held in a cell, some pistol ammo, and a gun with a flashlight already attached to it (or a laser gun in the Special Mode).
Before entering the main room, there's also a small hallway with some computers and drawers. There's a phone on a desk, that holds a message recorded by Wickson, warning Herbert of the monsters that are now roaming the school's halls.
Later in the game, you will also find out, through Alan Gardener's diary, that this office used to contain evidence of the experiments done by the Friedman brothers, although these were taken by Alan himself.

ObsCure II

In ObsCure 2, you return to this room during the Leafmore chapter. It has an additional door, located on the wall that's not normally visible in ObsCure.

The room shows clear signs of decay, much of the ceiling has fallen apart, and many of the furniture is either broken or missing entirely. The safe that was originally behind the map puzzle is still open, and empty.

You can find a newspaper next to a wall that talks about the demolition of the school, and the cover-up story that claims the basement was flooded and held a parasitic infection. If you try going to the small hallway where you'd originally hear Wickson's message, an ArbolTrebol will break through a wall.

You'll find that the door to the upstairs section of the classrooms has been blocked off by some pipes. You'll find a save flower here, and if you jump through the hole created by the ArbolTrebol, you'll end up down at the classrooms, in the room where a Crab broke through the wall in the first game.
